Sunday School Memory Verses
Sing Psalms 23:4
Though I walk in death’s valley, where darkness is near,
Because you are with me, no evil I’ll fear;
Your rod and your staff bring me comfort and cheer.
Death
We were very sorry to hear of the passing of Bella Maclean, late of Blar Buidhe care home and originally from Guershader. We extend our sympathy in particular to her niece Marina and her partner Jonathan, as well as the wider circle of family and friends.
New Clerks
Both the Kirk Session and the Deacons’ Court have had new Clerks appointed. Following the retiral of Rev James Maciver, who had been the Session Clerk, Mr Joe MacPhee has now taken over these duties. Also, after more than 21 years as clerk to the Deacons’ Court, Mr Murdo Iain Macleod has stepped down from this role and Mr Ian Murdo Macleod has been appointed as the new clerk. We give thanks for Joe and Ian Murdo’s willingness to take on these roles and also give thanks for both James and Murdo Iain’s excellent service over the years.
Christmas Club – Saturday 14th December, 13.30-16.00.
We are. as usual, dependent on volunteers for it to happen so, if you are available on the day, or beforehand to help with preparation at home (cutting card, glueing and sticking), or able to provide some baking, we would love to hear from you. Every contribution is much appreciated, especially by the busy families of the 80 children who we anticipate attending.
If you can help in any way, please contact Johan 07887 483992 or [email protected] by Wednesday 9th October. That will allow time to get organised before the school holidays. Our first meeting (with option of light supper prior to meeting) will be held on Friday 8th November at 6.30 in M.A. Hall. An additional meeting will be held early in December.
