As always, any who wish to take communion for the first time are invited to meet with the Session at any of the occasions above. The ministers and elders are also most willing to speak at any point over the next couple of weeks with anyone who has thoughts of taking communion for the first time.

The Christian Institute - Appeal to respond to the Scottish Government’s ‘conversion practices’ consultation.
As many of you will know, on 9th January the Scottish Government published its extreme proposals for a new law to ban so-called conversion practices.

Groups like Stonewall and the Humanist Society are encouraging their supporters to respond to the public consultation on the proposals.

They want a ‘conversion practices’ law that would force Christians to endorse LGBT ideology. So it’s absolutely crucial that the Scottish Government hears from Christians.

Please respond to the consultation as soon as you are able to.  For your assistance, the Christian Institute has produced a very helpful overview of the proposals and its guide, which identifies key questions and provides an online response form, can be found on their website:

https://www.christian.org.uk/campaign/broad-conversion-therapy-ban/

The consultation closes on 2nd April at midnight.

We would like to ask you to do three things:

  1. Pray that the proposals would be widely recognised as unworkable and that the Scottish Government would be forced to abandon its plans altogether.
  2. Respond to the consultation.
  3. Take the time to explain to your church and Christian friends why it’s so important that they respond to the consultation.
