Thank you.
I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to send me cards and messages on various media, during this challenging time for us. Thanks also to those who sent flowers and gave various gifts, but above everything thank you for your prayers. The love that has been shown to me and James has been overwhelming. It is such a privilege to be part of this congregation. May our God continue to bless us all as a church family.

Death
We were sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs Jessie Ann Morrison, formerly Newmarket, Murray Place and latterly Seaforth House Care Home.
We extend our sincere condolences and prayerful remembrance to her family at this time: sons John, Neil, Kenny and David, along with Sandra and Anna. The grandchildren, Beth, Robben, Rosslyn, Maisi, Rory, Caitlin and Ellen, and great grandchildren, Murray and Ronan. We also remember her sister Margery as well as all the extended family and friends.
Bible Class Scaladale Trip
The Bible Class (S1 & S2) enjoyed a fun overnight in Scaladale recently from Friday 2nd to Saturday 3rd February. The young people enjoyed some ice skating, lots of games and were involved in preparing and cooking each meal (and doing the dishes of course!). The Bible study time was focused on Grace (Ephesians 2) and Obedience (Romans 8) with time for discussion.
Thank you to the congregation for your support and for everyone who baked. Thanks be to God for his protection and kindness. Please continue to remember the young people in your prayers.
Fridays at the Free – Information Evening
Come along to an information session on Tuesday 12th March at 7.30pm at the M.A. Hall to find out more about supporting our congregation's outreach work at ‘Fridays at the Free’.
Current and prospective volunteers welcome to come along for an informal chat and cuppa, to share ideas and suggestions, and hear about the work over the last year.
Thank you to all those who have already contributed towards Fridays at the Free in so many different ways, through providing soup and baking, purchasing food items, gifting and knitting baby clothes, toiletries and funds for the baby bank, being there in person to befriend and encourage folk who come along, and also those who are praying.
55+ Fellowship
The next meeting of the 55+ Fellowship will be in the M.A. Hall on Friday 15th March at the usual time of 2.30pm. That day the speaker will be Joanne Stewart of Dove’s Corner. Joanne will also lead the singing. As a church community we have supported Dove’s Corner regularly over the last few years and it will be good to hear about their work. Dove’s Corner supplies free baby products and adult health care products. Our own Fridays at the Free regularly has a table with these products available.
If you need transport, please contact Duncan Norman on either of the following numbers: 01851 860 418 or 07787 973802.
Faith in Scotland's Constitutional Future.
This is a project of the School of Critical Studies/Theology & Religious Studies at the University of Glasgow, led by Professor Heather Walton and the Rev Dr Doug Gay. This is an ecumenical, non-partisan and politically/constitutionally neutral research project exploring how folk in churches relate faith to constitutional questions in Scotland.
After video presentations from four Christians prominent in Scottish politics (two pro-Union and two pro-Independence) the discussion will involve listening respectfully to one another’s positions and arguments. This will aim towards relating this emotive topic to the common Christian faith of participants.
There will be an event at Martin's Memorial Church in Stornoway on Tuesday 12th March in the evening. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.
