Notices - Sunday 3rd November

Cancellation
The Congregational Fellowship planned for Sunday 3rd November has been cancelled due to a death in the congregation.  
 

Tuesday 5th November: 
-Youth Club, S2+ meets in the hall from 7.30pm-9pm. The theme will be “Are you Afraid of the Dark?” 

-Ladies Visitation Group: There will be a meeting from 7pm in the Session Room, Kenneth Street. Anyone interested in joining this group is very welcome to attend this meeting.

 
Saturday 9th November
There will be a Fundraising lunch for Muriel Macleod from 12-2pm in the Hall. All welcome. If you can contribute any of the soups, puddings etc or help on the day, please add your name to the sheet available today at the door. All help will be most welcome.

 
Women For Mission
The recent WFM Soup and Pudding lunch raised £775, to go towards WFM projects. Sincere thanks to all who contributed in various ways and to those who attended the lunch.

Parent & Toddler meets on Tuesday (1.00–3.00pm) and Thursday (9.45-11.45am) 

Campaigners:  All groups meet on Monday in the hall as follows:
C Club 5pm-6pm (age 4-P2);
Kidz Zone 6pm-7.15pm (age P3-P5);
Crosstrax (age P6-S1) 7.15pm-8.30pm

Sunday 10th November
The Big Youth Fellowship will meet in Carloway Free Church from 8pm to 9:30pm, God willing. The speaker will be Rev George Macaskill. All secondary aged young people are warmly invited to come along and bring their friends.  
 

Monday 11th November
Deacons’ Court meets at 7pm in the Session Room, Kenneth Street.
 

Tuesday 12th November
Christianity Discussion Group to resume in Cabarfeidh Hotel from 7:30pm. We warmly welcome you to join us in a relaxed informal environment to discuss what it means to be a Christian. We will use the Christianity Explored material which is a great resource to aid discussion and stimulate questions. If you have not attended our sessions in the past, we hope that you will take the step to join us. We also hope to see those who have made this such a great experience in the past returning for more. Thursday 14th November
A course in Elementary Food Hygiene is being run from 9am-5pm (lunch not included) in Stornoway Town Hall. The Deacons' Court has agreed to meet the costs of three people attending the  course. Several in the congregation are already in possession of Food Hygiene certificates but if you would like to take advantage of the opportunity to attend the course, please contact Duncan Norman on 860 418 or 07787973802 to book a place.  It will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
 

Friday 15th November
Western Isles Free Church Mission Support Group:  The group will be hosting a curry evening at 7pm in the Rev MA Macleod Memorial Hall, Stornoway. The speaker will be Muriel Macleod, Cambodia. Donations from the evening will go to Muriel and also to Catriona Macdonald in Peru. Please note that if you don't like curry there will be alternatives available. Saturday 16th November
There will be a Soup and Pudding Lunch in St Columbas church hall from 12-2pm. All proceeds will go towards the 2020 Islands Study Conference in Harris. All welcome.
