Exploring Life’s Big Questions
Everyone has questions in life, for example, ‘Is God real?’, ‘Who is Jesus?’, ‘What about suffering?’. Where do we go for answers?

‘Exploring Life’s Big Questions’ is an opportunity to discuss these and many other questions in a relaxed and informal setting. We meet each Thursday, beginning 2nd May from 7.15pm to 8.15pm at the M. A. Hall. You are very welcome to come along. Please do invite others, even if you won’t be attending yourself, and use the leaflets as a way of spreading the word.

Volunteers Needed to Greet Cruise Visitors
The Session has given permission again for the Church to be open this summer to visitors on a number of selected days when Stornoway will have many extra visitors due to cruise liners visiting and the HebCelt Festival.

If you would like to volunteer to be on duty for a few hours on an open day, on a rota basis, to meet and greet visitors to the Church building, then please contact Marten Walker on 704586.

This opportunity is open to anyone associated with the congregation. The only qualification you need is the ability to give visitors a warm welcome!

Christian Institute Week of Prayer

Sunday 28th April – Our Leaders

Christians are commanded to pray “…for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

1 Timothy 2:2

Monday 29th April – Society

Christians must resist the secular thinking on moral issues that is corrupting society. “…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 5:16

Tuesday 30th April – Sanctity of Life

Human life is precious because we are made in the image of God. “… your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Psalm 139:16

Wednesday 1st May – Schools

Schools are under constant pressure to promote LGBT ideology. “Jesus said, ‘Let little children come to me, and do not hinder them’.”

Matthew 19:14

Thursday 2nd May – Free Speech

Gospel freedom and free speech are being undermined by the liberal idea that everyone has the right not to be offended. “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness.”

1 Peter 3:15

Friday 3rd May – ‘Conversion Therapy’ Laws

LGBT activists want to outlaw calls to repent. This would outlaw the Gospel. “God commands all people everywhere to repent”

Acts 17:30

Saturday 4th May – The Christian Institute

We treasure your prayers for us. “…pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured.”

2 Thessalonians 3:1
