Volunteers Needed to Greet Cruise Visitors.
The Session has given permission again for the Church to be open this summer to visitors on a number of selected days when Stornoway will have many extra visitors due to cruise liners visiting and the HebCelt Festival.

If you would like to volunteer to be on duty for a few hours on an open day, on a rota basis, to meet and greet visitors to the Church building, then please contact Marten Walker on 704586. This opportunity is open to anyone associated with the congregation. The only qualification you need is the ability to give visitors a warm welcome!

Long Service Ministry Presentations Friday 23rd June 7.30pm - M.A. Hall
The High Free Church congregation are hosting an event marking Rev Roddy Morrison's 50 years in the ministry and Rev James Macdonald's 40 years in the ministry. Everyone is warmly invited to attend as we give thanks to God for their ministries and express our appreciation for their years of faithful service.

Request to consider changing from Freewill Offering envelopes to Bank Standing Order.
As a congregation we are greatly indebted to those who contribute so faithfully to the funds of the church in what is very challenging times for many.

We will soon be placing the order for the 2024 consignment of freewill offering envelopes.  Since the Covid pandemic in 2020, about 45% of contributions to the funds of the congregation are now made by regular bank standing order.  We fully appreciate that contributing by standing order is not for everyone and that freewill offering envelopes will continue to be a preferred option for some.  The Deacons’ Court has decided to encourage those for whom standing order might be easier to seriously consider doing so.  A regular standing order may also be an opportunity for some in the congregation to begin a regular pattern of contributing to the work of the gospel.

If you would like to change from weekly envelopes to standing order or begin a regular pattern of contributing, please contact the Congregational Treasurer on [email protected], or speak to one of the office-bearers.

Supporting the ministry of Asia Link.
On Sunday 11th June, Rev Bill Ferguson, the Scottish representative of Asia Link, preached an excellent sermon from Isaiah 43 which he effectively applied to the hope and healing ministry of Asia Link.  For more information about the wider work of Asia Link, please visit www.asialink.org

If you would to contribute to their work, please put your contribution in an envelope clearly marked Asia Link and leave it in the collection plate at either the church or the Seminary. If paying by cheque, please make it payable to Stornoway Free Church.

Free Church Youth Camps
Free Church Youth Camps would value assistance from anyone that can help with being a chaperone to and from Stornoway, or baking. There is a sign-up sheet at the front of the church with details if you are able to help.

Church Teens’ Conference.
The teen’s conference is taking place from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th June at Lendrick Muir. Please pray for God’s blessing on all who attend.
