Presbytery Youth & Discipleship Support Worker - Commissioning Service
A Commissioning Service to mark the appointment of Mr Gordon Macleod as the Presbytery Youth & Discipleship Support Worker will be held in North Harris Free Church, Tarbert, on Wednesday 26th February 2020 at 7.30pm. Rev James Maciver will preach and preside. We give thanks to the Lord for Gordon's appointment and for the desire he's been given to engage in this important work. Your attendance at the service would be a great encouragement to Gordon and confirmation of your prayerful interest as he prepares to take up the post on 1st March 2020.
Day One (LDOS) Special Collection
A Special Collection will be taken for Day One (LDOS) at all services on Sunday 1st March. Collections points will be in place at all exits, including the doors leading from the first floor of the church.
The Sunday Bus Service
Our Deacons’ Court was recently informed by the management of Staran of their intention to discontinue their transport service within the next few weeks. This will mean that the current Sunday bus service, on which several in the congregation rely for attending services, will no longer be available. While this will be disappointing news to many, you can be assured that every effort is being made to source an alternative service provider. To date, these efforts have not been successful and there may be a period, possibly from the beginning of March, where no bus service will be in place. If that is the case, it will be necessary for those who previously relied on the service to make their own alternative transport arrangements. Updates on the situation will be given as information becomes available. In the meantime, we would urge everyone to make it a matter of prayer that God would lead us to a provision which closely replicates the service we had from Staran and which enabled many to attend church services who would not otherwise have been able to do so.
Binding Brokenness: Bible-Based Trauma Healing Course
This course presents what the Bible and mental health teach about how to heal from trauma. Through confidential small-group conversation and consideration of Scripture, participants will learn how the Bible speaks into their suffering. Trauma is a wounding of the heart and this course contains lessons which enable people to experience healing for their heart wounds. The course will run for 6 weeks from Thursday 20th February to Thursday 26th March, weekly from 6.30-9pm in the Rev MA Macleod Memorial Hall, Kenneth Street, Stornoway. There is no cost but booking is essential. For more information or to book, please contact the group facilitators: Mairianne Campbell on [email protected] or Joanna George – [email protected]

If you have English Bibles you are no longer using and would be willing to donate, could you please leave them in the marked box, inside the front door of the MA Hall.
