Dumisani Theological Institute 40th Anniversary:
On Friday 18th October at 7.30pm, there will be special meeting in the Rev M A Macleod Memorial Hall, Kenneth Street, to mark the 40th anniversary of the Dumisani Theological Institute & Bible School in Southern Africa. The speaker will be Dr Jack C Whytock, Visiting Principal at the institute and his theme will be ‘The Vital Importance of the Bible School Movement in Missions’.   A book marking the anniversary Voices of Thanksgiving will be available on the evening.

Dumisani is the official theological training institute of the Free Church in Southern Africa.   Although the church there became independent in 1982, its origins and history is firmly rooted in the endeavors of Free Church of Scotland missionaries and it continues to have strong partnership links with the Free Church of Scotland.  The Free Church in the Western Isles has always maintained a supportive interest in the missionary movement in Southern Africa.  We trust that this interest will be reflected with a good attendance on the evening.  Tea and coffee will be served afterwards.

Blythswood/SERA Trip to Moldova
Charlie is back now from Moldova and he would like to thank the congregation and people from the island for their prayers, support and kindness for the Mission. Charlie says: “It was a wonderful trip and God blessed us so much with the different challenges we had on the trip. Thank you to all who gave for the bibles- fifty-five bibles were given out to the Fire Fighters. All the aid from the Blythswood Stornoway Aid Lorry was distributed. A presentation of the visit will be given later next year. God bless you all and to God be the glory.”
