Notices - Sunday 11th September

As we mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 8th September 2022, we thank God for her 70 year reign as monarch during which she exemplified her devotion to duty, her impeccable integrity and her unfailing loyalty to the King she served.

 

Everyone is welcome to a time of fellowship in the M. A. Hall following the morning service.

Creche: 11.00am in upper hall for children up to age 2.
Volunteers today: Annette, Kathleen, Anne Mackenzie, Tina.
Volunteers 18th September: Elaine, Christine Smith, Chris, Annmarie.

 

Tweenies: 11.00am in the main hall for pre-school children aged 3-5.
Volunteers today: ChrissAnne, Anna, Aileen, Kirsty.
Volunteers 18th September: Elizabeth, Peigi, Christina, Joni.

 

Sunday School and Bible Class arrive in church at 11.00 with family, then go into M.A. Hall after children’s address.


Monday 12th September 1.00pm-3.00pm – Toddler Group in M.A. Hall for all children under school age. We need more volunteers.

Wednesday 14th September 7.30pm – English Prayer Meeting in the Seminary and on Zoom led by Rev Calum Murdo Smith.    


Thursday 15th September 7.30pm – Gaelic Prayer Meeting
in the Seminary led by Rev James Maciver.


Friday 16th September 2.30pm-4.00pm – 55+ Fellowship in M.A. Hall.

Speakers will be Rev Calum Murdo Smith and his wife Johan.  The singing and praise will be led by Dan Macphail.  Anyone needing transport please contact Duncan Norman on 860418 or 07787 973802.

Deaths. We were sorry to learn of the following deaths in the congregation. We pray that they may all know God’s comfort at this time of loss.

 

Mrs Isabella (Bell) Graham, Newmarket, aged 90. We extend our sincere condolences to her family: son Alex and his wife Helen; daughter Ancris and her husband Iain; son Calum and his wife Gillian; the grandchildren Ali, Lisa, Hannah and husband Kevin, Katie and husband Scott; and the great grandchildren Megan, Rory, Bella and Mark.

 

Mrs Mary Bell Watt, Torquil Terrace, aged 76. We extend our sincere condolences to her family: husband Malcolm; daughter Annette and her husband Simon; son Gordon and his wife Susan; son Jonathan; the grandchildren, Josh, Aaron, Emily, Olivia, Dan and Nathan; Mary Bell’s brother Kenny and his wife Margaret, and their daughter Ann.

 

Sunday School Snippet

It was lovely to have the children back in Sunday School after the summer break. We would like to encourage all children to bring a Bible or Bible storybook with them each week.

Our infant class is providing the first Snippets of the new school year.

Edinburgh Theological Seminary – Saturday Courses 2022-2023

Registration is now open which will resume on Saturday 17th September.

Big Free Youth Rally

The Big Free Rally is set to take place on Saturday 1st October at Smithton Free Church in Inverness from 11.00 - 15.00.

The event, which is open to everyone in P5 to S6, is a chance for young people to reunite with friends made at camp, although you don’t need to have been to camp to come to the Rally.

The title for the rally is Being Real and Rev Ben Fiddian will speak on the theme of integrity.

Our hosts for the day are Sheona Forbes and Euan Macdonald.  Games, talks, a quiz, prayer and praise will take place throughout the day.

The Hole in Our Holiness Reading Group                                                       

An 8 week reading group on discipleship for men will begin on Tuesday September 20th, 2022

The group will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 8pm – 9pm on Zoom and will meet for 4 weeks, then a 2 week break for the October holidays, then resuming for another 4 weeks in November.  Each week the group will read and discuss a section from The Hole in Our Holiness, by Kevin DeYoung.  

The group is open to men of any age, experience or location and all are welcome.
