Lord’s Prayer
Following a request from the Sunday School, asking if the Lord’s Prayer could be recited by the congregation after the children’s address each Lord’s Day morning, the Session agreed to introduce this, beginning next Lord’s Day 18th November. We will use the form of the Lord’s Prayer in the Authorised Version. This will be printed weekly in the bulletin. This will help the adults as well as the children to learn the Lord’s Prayer, sadly missing nowadays from recitation in many schools.

Meetings of the Kirk Session
From next month, the Kirk Session will meet each month, on the third Monday of the month, at 7.00pm, normally in the Session Room, Kenneth Street with the exception of the occasional months when the Deacons’ Court needs to meet on the third Monday of the month and also when communion services occur on the third Monday in February. One reason for this is to commit at least the first half hour of each meeting to prayer. Please contact any elder in your district should you wish the Session to pray about any matter specific to your situation. “I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all people…that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is pleasing and it is good in the sight of God our Saviour, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2: 1-4).

Recording of Salm Vol 3 in the Stornoway Town Hall. A warm welcome will be extended to all Gaelic psalm singers for the recording of Salm Vol 3 in aid of Bethesda Hospice. Recording will commence at 7.30pm and it would be helpful if everyone could be seated by 7.00pm (the doors will be open from 6.30pm).  The hall seating capacity is 300, with 200 seated downstairs and 50 upstairs along with 50 standing. Precentors from different denominations will take part and the recording engineer of Salm Vol 1&2 will also be present for this special event.  The intention is to record 15 items of praise for a CD which will be released in the New Year.  The verses of the Psalms being sung and the name of the tune will be displayed on a large screen behind the precentors.
