Death
We were very sorry to hear of the passing of Alec Mackay (also known as Callan), formerly of Parkend. We especially remember his wife Flora, their sons Louis with his wife Christine, and Dan.
We also remember the grandchildren, Elaine and Jenny, and the great grandchildren Laila and Penny. Also, Alec’s brother Donald, sister in law Kirsty Mary and his sister Mairi, nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends, praying that God would comfort them all at this time.
Dear Friends at Stornoway Free Church
I hope that this email finds you well. We are extremely grateful for the donations that you have made towards the ministry of Aviel Sela. He wouldn’t be able to do his Jewish evangelism work in Israel without the support of missionary partners like you.
Aviel is not what you would consider a typical missionary. He used to be one of the top wrestlers in the Ukraine, and used to teach ballet, before he became a missionary reaching out to Jewish people! He now lives in Jerusalem with his wife and family, and his mission focus is reaching Russian speaking Jewish contacts in Jerusalem.
He works in close partnership with another missionary organisation in Jerusalem to maximise the evangelistic reach. A large proportion of his Jewish contacts are elderly, and he runs an 'A to Z' Bible Study class for Holocaust survivors, which has been extremely effective.
Mark Henderson (Director, International Mission to Jewish People)
There are copies of a full report of Aviel’s work available at the door.

Renfrew Kids Camp 5th to 12th July - Updated Prayer Points
‘Adopt a Camp’, is a way that individual churches are linked up with congregations. Stornoway Free Church is linked with Renfrew Kids.
Renfrew Kids is for children in P5-P7.
Please pray for the following:
1) That we will put the right campers together in dorms. This makes such a difference to sleep, and the feel of camp. We don’t know the campers, but God does, pray that we will put together dorms that will allow for good sleep.
2) We have short morning talks, where a leader will talk about someone who has helped them as a Christian. This allows the campers to really connect with what Christianity is for now, and not just the past.
3) Our long time organiser of music is not with us this year. We have several great musicians. Pray that they will be able to help the kids with sung praise to God.
4) The main talks are being undertaken by a variety of leaders, please pray for them:- Paula on Saturday, Deuan on Sunday, Alan on Monday, Mairi on Tuesday, Alan on Wednesday, Paula on Thursday, Deuan on Friday.
