Please Note – Change to church seating arrangement

At its last meeting, the Kirk Session decided that from Lord’s Day, 30th March, there will be a change to the seating arrangements on the ground floor of the church.

By extending the seating further forward towards the pulpit, the preacher will feel more engaged with the congregation.  It will also make it easier for the precentor to set the pitch and pace of the praise and for the congregation to uniformly follow his lead.  This should result in an enhanced and well-blended harmony of praise which is such an important feature of our public worship.

The change will not mean having to move from the general area in which you usually sit but it may mean having to choose a pew either in front or behind the one you previously sat in.

We trust that the congregation understands and supports the reasons for the change and will quickly adjust to it.

Thank you from The Gambia Partnership

We as a charity would like to thank the congregation for their generous donations resulting in an amazing £2865.00 being raised for our Bible appeal. Every single penny will be spent on audio Bibles or written Bibles which will be used to advance the gospel in The Gambia. Thank you all so much for  partnering in the work. What an encouragement!

Thank you from Women for Mission

The Stornoway WfM committee sincerely thank all who contributed to the fundraising lunch last Saturday. £1000.00 was raised. This money will be distributed between The Blythswood Trust, The Kerusso Trust in Malawi, The Reanos in Columbia, and The Tumaini Fund in Scotland.

55+ Fellowship

The next meeting of the Fellowship will be on Friday 11th April at 2.30pm in the M A Hall.  The speaker that day will be our elder Murdo Murray, and the singing will be led by another of our elders, Ian Murdo Macleod.

Please note that the car park will be available for parking on that day. Thank you for your patience with this issue.  I think you will agree it makes a significant difference to have the car park available especially during inclement weather.

If you can, why don’t you invite a friend along to this meeting.  I know some of you do this anyway, and to see more of you doing it would be very encouraging.

If you need transportation to or from the fellowship, please contact Duncan Norman on one of the numbers below:

01851 860418 or 07787 973802.
