Elgin and Forres Free Church - Request for Financial Assistance
Elgin and Forres Free Church have worshipped in their current building for over 100 years. The building is well used and hosts several activities in addition to regular Lord's Day and mid week services. The interior has been adapted to accommodate these activities and to enhance its witness to the surrounding community. Although they have endeavoured to maintain the exterior of the building over the years, they have now come to the stage where larger items of maintenance need to be addressed. In a recent survey, it was highlighted that the building's external pointing requires urgent attention. The cost of the work is likely to be at least £20,000 but could be substantially more. The congregation is in the process of raising funds to meet these costs and is appealing to the wider church for assistance. If anyone wishes to contribute to this appeal they should put their donation in an envelope clearly marked 'Elgin and Forres Appeal' and leave it in the collection plate at the church or the Seminary.
