Notices - Sunday 4th November

District Visitation
Please pick up your copy (one per household) of the Visiting Teams booklet which is available at the door on Sunday, containing useful contact information for the visiting team in your district.


Sunday
Bayhead Youth Group will meet in the Bridge Centre, 8.30-9.30pm. Clare Macleod, Caron Buchanan and Lisa Macritchie from the High Free Youth Mission Team will be speaking about their trip to Moldova in the summer. All are welcome to attend.  

All young people are invited to the hall after the evening service for food and refreshment before heading down to the Bridge Centre together for 8.30pm.
 
 
Tuesday 6th November
-Youth Club meets from 7.30-9.30pm for S2-S6 in the Hall.
-Kirk Session meets at 7pm in the Session Room in the Seminary.
-Christian Discussion Group meets at 7.30pm in the Session room, Kenneth St.

Anyone interested in finding out more, in an informal setting, about the Christian faith is very welcome. Please contact Cala on 07818 076163 if you have any questions.
 

Saturday 10th November
There will be a Fund Raising Lunch for OMF (Muriel Macleod, Cambodia) from 12-2pm in the Hall. All most welcome.



2018 Blythswood Shoebox Appeal
 
The collection point for this year's Blythswood Shoebox Appeal is the Stornoway TA Drill Hall, Church Street on the following days:  
-Wednesday 7th November from 3.00 - 7.00pm
-Thursday 8th November from 3.00 - 7.00 pm
-Friday 9th November from 2.00 - 7.00 pm
 
Anyone who is available to assist with sorting the shoeboxes can come along at any of these times.
 
If further information is required, please contact Mrs Dorothy Kennedy on 820650.

The WFM Committee sincerely thank all who contributed to the lunch on Saturday 27th October. Over £1000 was raised for projects in the UK, the Philippines, the Middle East and Bulgaria.

Congregational Fellowship - There will be a Congregational Fellowship after the evening service where the topic will be Thoughts on Remembrance Sunday. All very welcome.

WFM meets at 7.30pm in the Session Room, Kenneth St.

Friday 16th November
- 55+ Fellowship meets from 2.30pm-4pm in the MA Hall. The speaker will be Murdo Murray.

-Western Isles Free Church Mission Support Group will be holding a curry evening at 7pm in the MA Hall. The speaker will be AJ Maclean to tell us about his previous work with Tearfund. Donations on the evening will go to Muriel Macleod in Cambodia. Please note if you don't like curry there will be alternatives available. The Annual General Meeting of God is Good Africa (GIGA) - Charity Number SC046758 - will take place on 19th November 2018 in the Session Room, Kenneth Street, Stornoway at 7.30pm. All are welcome to attend.

Wednesday 21st November
Christian Witness to Israel (CWI)-Central Meeting meets at 7.30pm in MA Hall.


Midweek Meetings: All at 7.30pm
Monday – Monthly Bilingual (Seminary)
Wednesday – English, Rev James Maciver (MA Macleod Memorial Hall) - Continuing the study in the Letter of James, Session 10 will be “Do I Really Need Other Christians? Why?” All welcome.
