I would like to thank the congregation for its support of the 55+ Fellowship over the last 5 months. It has been great to see so many of you turn up to the meetings. However, there is still plenty room available with the new layout. Some of you still don’t seem willing to admit you are over 55. Go on, you know you want to!!!

Death
We were very sorry to hear that Mrs Sheila Macleod, Newton Street (latterly Bethesda Care Home) had passed away, aged 96. We extend our condolences to her sons Norman, Angus and James, daughter-in-law Margaret Ann, grandson Finlay, and sister Morina, together with all nephews and nieces.

We pray that they will all know God’s comfort at this time of sorrow.

Sunday School Snippet
Today we learned about the tabernacle and how Jesus has made a way for us to meet with God. We need to give our best to God.

Hope Explored – 14th and 21st February
Do you ever wonder about all that is going on in the world around us, and where Christianity features in all this?  Or are you looking for a Hope that won’t disappoint you?

There are few emotions more powerful than hope.

But these days, hope often feels hard to come by.

Where can we find a hope that won't disappoint us?

Looking at the life, death and resurrection of Jesus in Luke's Gospel, this three-session series from Christianity Explored Ministries shows that Christianity is about real hope: a joyful expectation for the future, based on true events in the past, which changes everything about my present.

It sounds good…………… but is it true?
Whatever people do or do not believe, Hope Explored offers them an opportunity to explore, to discuss the hope, peace and purpose Jesus offers.

Please come and join us to consider some of these matters in the Kenneth St Church Hall.  Each session will start at 7:30pm and finish at 8:30pm.

These meetings will be held in an informal and relaxed environment and suitable for anyone with little, or no, Christian experience.

There is no need to book, just turn up.  Bring some friends if you can.

Dove’s Corner’ Baby Bank
Many thanks to those who have already contributed to the Baby Bank. This will be an ongoing collection where baby items such as nappies, wipes, formula, and adult toiletries will always be gratefully received.

At present they are short of pyjamas for children aged 5-10 years (new or in good clean condition).

Donations can be placed inside the door of the M.A. Hall.

Service of Thanksgiving for the Launch of Gaelic Audio New Testament

A Gaelic service of thanksgiving will take place on Friday 24th February at 7.30pm, at Stornoway Free Church, Kenneth Street, to mark the launch of the Gaelic Audio New Testament, recorded during July 2022.

Following the service, light refreshments will be served in the M.A. Hall. Representatives from the Scottish Bible Society will speak briefly about the project, and footage from the filming will be shown, featuring interviews with folk at Kenneth Street. Some clips from the recordings will also be played.

A warm invitation is extended to all.
